WSP statement on votes-for-money investigation

Posted by Scott Dilley - March 11, 2009

I just received the following statement from Sgt. Freddie Williams at the Washington State Patrol:

Worker Privacy Act
Potential Investigation by WSP
March 11, 2009

• The Washington State Patrol has received a request to look into potential criminal allegations surrounding communications pertaining to SB 5446 and HB 1528 – Worker Privacy Act.

• As with any on-going investigation, no evidence or further information will be released at this time.

• The WSP will be working hand in hand with prosecutors (We don’t know who may/may not have jurisdiction yet.) as we progress

• We just received the request and little in known at this time.

• The WSP is taking this very seriously as we do with any potential criminal allegations and will work closely with prosecutors to determine a course of action.

So...how good is the WA capitol news team? Will we get any indication of who is in the wrong here? Great journalism challenge.

Say it isn't so! Unions would never be involved in criminal activity!

*wink*

After the legislature and gov'ner got a taste of Boeing's displeasure w/ these bills - no D wants to be the idiot who runs Boeing outta here with stupid and unconstituional foolishness like this. Could it be they are pulling these bills at the 11th hour (the 12th is bill cutoff day) using a lobbiast as the scapegoat? They can save face with the union and at the same time let Boeing know that they are being heard by throwing someone under the bus and publically cleansing their hands of wrong doing. What a plot!

What we are seeing here is the difference between politics and statesmanship. Clearly we have a rather disturbing lack of statesmen in our legislature.
